We used the move to our new headquarter office as the catalyst for cultural change within our business.
Our new space brings the chapmanbdsp brand and core values to life, creates a sense of wellbeing and reflects who we are; dynamic, flexible, diverse and imaginative thinkers.
The office was designed with our commitment to planet and people in mind. The existing fit-out was reused where possible and supplemented with natural timber and soft furnishings which promote wellbeing.
A ‘garden path’ circling the perimeter of the office maximises natural light for people working within and connects us back to nature. Biophilia and a green-wall create further associations with the outdoors.
The open plan floorplate has 25 per cent sit/stand desks - with a 10:9 Ratio – and has given us a variety of interesting spaces.
Several breakout areas - including scrum and quiet areas - a wellness room, and adaptable meeting rooms have encouraged contemplation and collaboration, while the patio area space is flexible enough to host staff during lunchtimes and later be transformed for evening functions and events.
Meaningful staff engagement ensured all stakeholders were on-board during the project journey, with an office move committee deciding on all aspects of the move, including making the office agile.
Early results show staff are overwhelmingly happy with the new office, which has had a positive impact on presenteeism and productivity.
We are currently submitting the project for the WELL V2 (pilot) certification – one of the first buildings in the country to do so.
