Battersea Power Station Development Phase III

London, UK

Battersea Power Station is an iconic London landmark and one of the last major symbols of London’s industrial past. The redevelopment project brings both the Power Station building itself and the surrounding area back to life. The site will be easily accessible through an extension to the Northern Line.

Phase III creates 'The Electric Boulevard', which will be the main gateway to the 42-acre development, connecting the Northern Line Extension station with the Power Station. The phase includes more than 1,300 homes in a range of sizes and styles in two zones on either side of the boulevard, as well as a 160-room hotel, retail spaces, restaurants and leisure facilities.

Two of the world’s major signature architects are involved in this project; the building known as ‘O-1’ has been designed by Foster + Partners and the ‘RS-4’ buildings designed by Gehry Partners. ‘O- 1’ also includes a hotel, a clinic and affordable residential units. The scheme will be constructed in two phases. Phase 3A will be constructed whilst the new station is being built.

Completion of the station box will allow work to commence on Phase 3B. Phase 3A is scheduled for completion in 2018 and Phase 3B in 2020.
