This project was a scheme to refurbish and extend an existing children’s day care nursery, increasing its capacity and improving the facilities available.

The client, Newcore, is investing in property purchase and bespoke refurbishment for key tenants. Our duties included design and specification of MEP works in accordance with Busy Bees standard specification of refurbishment and fit out works, including Part L SBEM modelling, design stage EPC together with construction phase
monitoring and witness testing.

The challenge was to deliver a commercial solution within a large domestic property - while considering incoming utilities, plant and equipment installed to satisfy planning requirements - and to retain the look of a residential building.

Good dialogue with planners, end users and property neighbours was key to delivering a trouble free project.

We assisted our client in delivering their business plan which is to acquire and refurbish properties on a long term investment basis.

Benefits to the tenant and the local community were increased through an increased number of nursery places and improved nursery facilities.
