Parliamentary Education Centre
London, UK
The Parliamentary Education Centre, situated at the north end of Victoria Tower Gardens, London, is a world-class educational facility designed to inspire young people in a dynamic and stimulating environment.
We were able to use a range of of immersive technologies that helped create a unique learning experience for children, while also providing a design that integrated with the existing site infrastructure and still achieved a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating.
Planning and programming issues were mitigated by the design of prefabricated low height plant pods, which were factory manufactured and brought to site before being craned into building plant spaces.
Interfaces with Parliamentary Estates were all agreed at stakeholder meetings and our choice of fabric, equipment and plant selection achieved a minimum 29 per cent reduction in CO2 emissions below Part L2010.
This meant the project comfortably met with the Parliamentary Estate's objective to reduce carbon emissions by 34 per cent by 2020.
